DISEC serves as the UN's first committee and is dedicated to disarmament, global security, and international peacebuilding. Established in 1945 alongside the UN General Assembly, DISEC plays a central role in addressing threats to global peace and stability. In this year’s edition of KMUN, delegates will engage with three critical agenda items. The first involves the assessment of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, focusing on the current verification mechanisms and protocols for nuclear test notifications. The second agenda will examine the enforcement of the Chemical Weapons Convention, aiming to strengthen international compliance and accountability. The final topic will address the role of Private Military Contractors in modern conflict zones, analyzing their influence on international security and the evolving nature of warfare.
